BA-1 lets you tap into the raw and gritty sound of a 1980s analog cult synth, which we modeled meticulously before expanding the feature set to create an entirely new instrument.

Packed with extras

While the interface is purposely simple to accommodate for a fast and obstacle-free creative workflow, we packed BA-1 with a number of valuable extras.

Drain the battery, distort the signal via circuit-bending, use the built-in speaker, get creative with the onboard arpeggiator and so much more for an authentically 80s lo-fi sound. Also, BA-1 has a number of easter eggs that allow you to add chaos and unpredictability to the signal in ways that software normally couldn’t do.

The EFFECTS

If you know our company, you’ll know that effects are our specialty. So we’ve treated BA-1 with a rich FX section that captures the sound of a decade in six distinctive effects. The FX chain is inspired by budget 80s hardware and brings you the lo-fi charm of home studio rack units. The overdrive is modeled after a guitar pedal, while the delay, reverb and chorus effects are based on grainy digital effects from the era.

With BA-1 v1.5, the FX chain is now included as a separate effect plugin as well so you can add it to any track you desire.

The simplicity

BA-1 is simple, but surprisingly tweakable. We’ve put great effort into tuning all parameters to be in the perfect sweet spot. This results in a rewarding programming workflow where tweaking BA-1 is a lot of fun and you’ll create new and amazing patches on repeat.

And if a simple interface is not fast enough, you can always use the smart ‘Re-Gen’ feature. Hit Re-Gen and BA-1 will automatically create new and musically tuned patches with every click.
